About Huliāmahi Athletics

Huliāmahi Athletics is a team that was inspired to give back to our next generation of Hawaiʻi athletes. The passion and drive that we share comes from different manaʻo(stories) of our own individual experiences in our athletic careers and we are so honored to be sharing and spreading the passion we have for the sport with you! #StrongastheSea #StrongasOne

Controlled Aggression

Athletes must learn to channel their emotions into positive actions that help them excel on the field. This means maintaining a level of aggression that allows them to play at their best, while avoiding harmful or unsportsmanlike behavior.

Intent Consistency

Athletes need to approach their training and competition with a clear purpose and focus on achieving their goals. By maintaining consistency in their intent and effort, they can improve their skills and achieve success.

Sportsmanship

Athletes should always strive to exhibit good sportsmanship, showing respect for their opponents, coaches, and officials. This includes following the rules, playing fairly, and displaying grace in both victory and defeat.

Leadership

Athletes have the ability to be leaders both on and off the field. By setting a positive example, communicating effectively, and motivating others, athletes can inspire their teammates and help them achieve their full potential.

Safe Space

Athletes need a safe and inclusive environment where they can feel comfortable expressing themselves and being their authentic selves. This means creating a culture of respect and openness, where everyone feels valued and supported.

Mental Health

Athletes must prioritize their mental health and well-being, recognizing that success on the field is often linked to mental and emotional strength. This means being willing to seek help when needed, and being open and honest about struggles with mental health and vulnerability.

Finding What Athlete You Are

The process of discovering your strengths, weaknesses, and natural abilities as an athlete. This involves understanding your physical attributes, skills, and talents that make you unique and help you excel in your chosen sport.
